Biblical Hebrew from Theory to Practice
This ten-week course is intended for students who can read and translate some verses and short paragraphs. During this course we will work on reading and understanding verses and short paragraphs graded from an easy to a more complex style and vocabulary. During class we will also parse nouns, verbs, and prepositions from those texts. We will be using two books: Tanakh and Learning Biblical Hebrew workbook-A Graded Reader with Exercises. Alisa Lottati has an extensive background in teaching Modern and Classical Hebrew at various levels within the Ulpan method at schools and universities. She holds an M.A. in Education and Jewish Studies from George Washington University in D.C., a B.A. in Political Science and History from Haifa University, and a teaching degree from Oranim College. Alisa has also undergone training in Hebrew at the Center courses, offered by Brandeis University and the NETA language program.
