In this month’s class, we’ll learn how art has helped heal Israeli society and bolster support for Israel in the international arena.
The October 7th massacre and the war between Israel and Hamas that followed have brought a wave of artistic reactions and activism by Israeli artists, locally and internationally. In this lecture, we will view and discuss such varied artistic responses, which have also bolstered Israeli advocacy in the international arena.
Instructor: Sagi Refael
Sagi Refael is an Israeli art historian, curator, educator, writer and advisor to collectors and artists, based in Los Angeles. He is also the founder of IAILA, a private educational and commercial initiative representing contemporary Israeli artists in Southern California.
