This ten-week course is designed for advanced students who have a solid understanding of Hebrew. The topics covered in this course include the historical and contemporary aspects of the Kibbutz, the usage of the preposition “on” and the verb “to be” in the past and present tense, expressing possibilities and impossibilities, and an introduction to the renowned Israeli poet Rachel Blaustein. To facilitate your learning, we will be using the book Hebrew From Scratch Part 2, specifically focusing on Pesek Zman 1, lesson 2. If you haven’t obtained the textbook yet, you can purchase it on Amazon HERE.

Aliza Klainman is the Director of the Community Hebrew Program for the Whizin Center of Continuing Education and an instructor at American Jewish University. Aliza brings to the program her excellent organizational skills as well as years of experience teaching adults in the Ulpan method of Israel, teaching Hebrew with Hebrew. She completed her education in Israel and received her teaching credentials from the Ministry of Education, Israel and the Teachers Seminar Institute in Beer Sheva.
